Former Trainer Jamie Lloyd was based in the U.S. for 10 years where he established a stable in Southern California, training such Stakes horses as KATDOGAWN, HAMIELDAEME, SHERMEEN, FANTASTIC PICK, SLEWS TIZNOW, ON THE ACORN and HUCKING HOT. The compact stable produced over $1.4 Million in purse money, and raced horses at Keeneland, Churchill Downs, Arlington Park, Santa Anita, Hollywood Park and Del Mar.
Jamie and his family relocated back to the UK in 2012 to Far Westfield Farm in Warwickshire, since arriving home they have built the farm into one of the top pre-training centers in the country. Jamie combines his time at the farm with managing the Bloodstock interests of Marco Botti in Newmarket.

TRINIANS, CHARLIE EM, DHAAMER, MISS SINGHSIX and Oak Tree Derby Gr.II winner FANTASTIC PICK.
World class breaking & training facilities
The farm has enjoyed a very busy spring and summer. With the addition of our new purpose built foaling unit we have enjoyed a busy stud season with almost 40 mares foaled on the farm. Many of them have stayed on as full-time boarders and it has allowed us to broaden our horizons as a stud and successful facility for foaling/ walk outs, with clients as local as from here in Warwickshire and as far flung as Spain and USA! Under the watchful and experienced guidance of Bill Lloyd, who is now our resident stud manager, it has been a fun and interesting transition for the farm which we hope to continue and nurture in the future. This Spring has also seen another addition to the Far Westfield family with the birth of Catalina in March and we hope to see her helping out on the yard soon along with her brother and sister! Over the summer months our staff have been working amazingly hard to keep the farm looking great and we have added some new features including a new superb all-weather surface for the gallop and we are also working on the installation of a new walker which will be hugely beneficial during the busy winter months. With the flat season now ending and the night’s drawing in it can only mean one thing… breaking season! With our busiest time of year now upon us we would like to update you all on the farm’s progress over the past few months. A big achievement that we are all delighted with is the running of Capla Temptress in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf Gr 1. Jamie bought her at the Goffs Orby yearling sale for just €26,000 in 2016 and she has proven to be a marvellous bargain. This international Grade 1 winner was backed and ridden away right here at Far Westfield Farm before starting her winning career with Marco Botti. She won the Grade 1 Natalma Stakes for Marco and owners, Team Valor, at Woodbine Racetrack in Canada before she headed to the Breeders Cup in Del Mar this autumn. She ran a very respectable race there to finish 7th and will now be returning to the UK to continue her training. She is definitely a horse to follow and we look forward to supporting this great filly in all her future endeavours, we wish good luck to her and all her connections! We are very lucky that with the great support we receive from our trainers and owners, we are able to have increased our facilities to accommodate more horses. This also means that we have been busy fencing all new paddocks to allow the horses to enjoy some down time with the sun on their backs. The team are in full swing now getting all the yearlings backed and ridden away for the best education and start in life. If you would like to enquire about any of our services, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. As always, please visit our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for regular pictures and updates. We are looking forward to continued progress on the farm and more busy and successful times ahead.
A fantastic result for one of our graduates. 2 year old ZAITANA (Zoffany x Jabroot) wins on only her second start. Zaitana trained by Rod Collet and owned by Al Shira’aa Farms, beat 15 other runners coming from the back in the Prix de la Perdriere at Deauville yesterday. The filly was backed and started here at Far Westfield Farm last season before continuing her training with Rod Collet. A huge congratulations to all connections and may the new year bring even more success.
Well it’s been quite a busy few months for Jamie Lloyd Bloodstock and Far Westfield Farm. Both entities have been busy at the sales across Europe since the season kicked off at Goffs UK in August. Jamie attended the Goffs UK sale followed Tattersalls Ireland, Goffs, The Arq Sale, Tattersalls Book 1 to 3 and finally the Tattersalls HIT sale. Jamie purchased 10 yearlings for Marco Botti over this period and several Horses in training or other clients. One more notable purchase was that of Spain Burg for €1.5000.000 at the Arq sale and Chantilly for American Owner Dean Reeves. Jamie with Dean Reeves and Freddy Powell of Arqana Sales The farm enjoyed a great deal of new business the Autumn from Newmarket trainers Charlie Fellows, Stuart Williams, George Peckham and Henry Spiller. As well as continued support from Marco Botti, Al Shira’aa racing and Promenade Bloodstock. Fillies out of training enjoying the mild autumn at the farm Jamie has been spending time in Doha restructuring a large breeding and racing operation based there in his role as Racing/Bloodstock manager of Promenade Bloodstock Ltd. This is a very exciting venture that Jamie is very proud to be associated with, please keep tuned for updates. Obviously storming home in the Breeders Cup Turf Sprint Gr.I The autumn was topped off with Jamie purchasing his first Breeders Cup winner, as Obviously took the Turf Sprint Gr.I. Obviously was purchased in partnership with Craig Rounsefell of Boomer Bloodstock for his farther in Law and then trainer Mike Mitchel. Following Mike’s death, the horse was continued to be trained to perfection by his Assistant Phil D’Amato. Phil entered Obviously in the Breeders Cup for the 5th successive year, however he shortened up the 2 x Gr. I winning miler to 6.5 furlongs on Santa Anita’s famed downhill turf course and got the big win. It was very much a family victory and our congratulation go out to all.
“Yearlings I have received from Far Westfield Farm have always looked great and have been very well handled. They have been well mannered, well educated and a regular comment from my riders is what lovely mouths they have.
Older horses that have spelled with Jamie and his team have always done extremely well. Jamie will do with them as much or as little as I ask him to and they always come home carrying plenty of condition, as one wants after a holiday.”
Ed Walker – Trainer
“The yearlings that Jamie and the team at Far Westfield Farm prepare for us are super- they come into us well handled and ready to take the next step in their education.
There is a smooth professional transition from yearling to racehorse. The communication is great and the transport that they have in place is almost as if Far Westfield farm is on your doorstep. I would have no hesitation to recommend them for a comprehensive, professional job.”
Marco Botti – Trainer
“I have sent a number of yearlings to Jamie Lloyd to break in and bring on. Their owners have been happy, their trainers have been pleased, and the horses have received an excellent education.”
James Delahooke – Bloodstock Agent
